Skilled and committed employees are a crucial factor in the success of Linköping University. And we need more of them. Our core expertise comes from teachers and researchers, but a successful university requires experienced and motivated employees in many fields. Everyone is important. We need to recruit many new employees thanks to, among all, an expansion in our research activity. We need you here. We look forward to receiving your application!
We are looking for an Innovation advisor within University Services.
The Strategic Collaborations Office is a support function tasked with ensuring that knowledge generated at Linköping University benefits society. Our mission is twofold: to assist researchers, teaching staff and students to translate their knowledge and innovative ideas into practical benefits; and to develop the University’s ability to make its knowledge available through strategic collaborations with other higher education institutions and selected external partners. Our overarching objective is to ensure that society can reap the benefits of the University’s knowledge. The office employs innovation advisors, collaboration developers and fundraisers. The Strategic Collaborations Office is one of three offices at the International Affairs and Collaborations Division of University Services. Gender equality and diversity are important aspects of recruitment, as we strive to ensure that our unit reflects society in general and the University in particular.
Your future duties
As an innovation advisor, you will work within the framework of the government’s innovation assignment, with societal benefits in focus. You will be a member of a team of specialists in various fields who jointly support the University’s researchers and teachers in translating their research results and knowledge into practical benefits. The role consists of supporting the organisation in planning, identifying and developing research results and knowledge that can provide concrete solutions to societal problems, thereby having an impact beyond academia.
The position involves operational and strategic activities with both individual researchers and research environments from the initial planning stage, to securing funding and on through the entire research and innovation cycle. Commercialisation is one way to ensure the benefits of knowledge and, in this regard, knowledge of intellectual property rights and commercialisation provides an important qualification.
New projects in collaboration with the private and public sectors often take the form of joint grant applications, the success of which is generally dependent on societal relevance and impact. In this regard, you are a driving force and support for research environments in identifying and describing these elements to strengthen applications. This means establishing and developing a project portfolio in the specific field (humanities, social sciences or engineering). You will be responsible for creating and developing close relationships with research environments, as well as for the inflow of ideas within the chosen fields and how they reach out to provide societal benefits. You will work closely with other stakeholders in Linköping University’s innovation support system, such as our business incubators. To succeed in this position, you will require a wide network of national and international stakeholders.
