POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Trade Teams in G2 Ocean consists of the following three roles; Chartering, Operation and Business Controlling. The Charterer will work in close cooperation with the Team leader/Chartering Manager, Operation and Trade Controlling.

The Position reports to the Chartering Manager, who leads the team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES –

The job holder will be:
-              The Charterer will support the Chartering Manager in their daily efforts around voyage pre-planning, execution, and management.
-              The individual will assist with yield management, scheduling metrics, and support and analyze the viewpoint.
-              Assist with COA client management and renewals.
-              Assist in efforts to attract spot cargo opportunities, develop new markets, and trade lanes.
-              Ensuring compliance against agreed working practices in all relevant systems supporting the Voyage Execution process.
-              Ensuring that all data is accurate, valid, and complete in a timely manner throughout the Voyage Execution.

The job holder will be responsible for:
-              Supporting and helping to build customer relations in accordance with company policy and trade targets
-              Assisting in developing new accounts and market intelligence in the assigned trade
-              Assisting with monitoring and documenting customer satisfaction
-              Registering and assisting in resolving incidents in accordance with company policy
-              Participating in creating and managing core commercial information in our systems
              o Assist with the creating contracts of affreightment
              o Assist with the creating and managing trade admin
              o Assist with the creating and managing Master files
-              Participating in Voyage Pre-planning
              o Allocate contract cargoes
              o Fix spot cargoes
              o Prepare cargo line-up
-              Participating in Voyage Preparation
              o Create voyage in Dataloy
              o Verify and release Preliminary Voyage Estimate
-              Participating in Voyage Execution
              o Monitor/Chase for Payment
-              Participating in Post Voyage Activities

The job holder will assist with:

-              Participate in Initial Voyage Planning & Execution

-              Participate in Voyage Execution
              o              Issue Freight Invoice
              o              Verify and release Adjusted Voyage Estimate
              o              Monitor Data Quality
              o              Verify and release Corrected Voyage Estimate
-              Participate in Post Voyage Activities
              o              Verify and agree Final Voyage Estimate
              o              Voyage closure

CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTORS             

The job holder will need to have proven commercial experience within the Shipping Industry.  This will include a detailed knowledge of all relevant contractual and commercial procedures and documentation. They will also need to have strong numerical, interpersonal, negotiation and organisational skills as well as good attention to detail and IT skills.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

The job holder may be a college or equivalent graduate ideally with a maritime related degree.

The job holder will either hold the ICS qualification or be prepared to study for this.
