Product Development Engineer - Kungsbacka
Piab is evolving automation through progressive gripping, lifting, and moving solutions and has done so since 1951. Since January of 2020, TAWI is a part of the Piab Group. Together, we are building a strong Lifting Automation division, offering smart lifting solutions through the commercial brand TAWI (tawi.com).
TAWI enables businesses to move from manual handling to smart lifting solutions in production, logistics and distribution where manual handling is part of daily operations.

About the role
As a Product Development Engineer you will be a crucial part of the R&D team in the Lifting Automation division, developing new and innovating lifting solutions for the industry.
Today the R&D team consists of 7 people and the work involves developing new and improving existing products that help people to, in an ergonomic and safe way, lift and move different types of objects.
In the role you will be involved throughout the entire product development process, from idea to finished product, which is often characterized by technical challenges.
We are looking for
Skills, experience, and educational background
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics engineering.
- At least 2 years of experience within mechanical engineering.
- Good knowledge in 3D CAD, preferably SolidWorks.
- Excellent English skills, verbal and written.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc
- Experience of electric systems is meritorious but not a requirement.

In this role you will
- Develop mechanical systems, sometimes with elements of electronics, for ergonomic lifting solutions.
- Produce design documents and other product related documentation needed for production and user manuals.
- Discuss technical solutions with suppliers to make sure that the best production method is used to reach our cost targets.
- Plan, execute and analyse tests.
As Product Development Engineer you will report directly to the R&D Manager Lifting Automation and this position is based in Kungsbacka.
