What you will do

As a Commercial Director, your mission is to develop and implement sales strategies, identify new market opportunities, drive demanding business growth, and maintain strong relationships with key clients and partners. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in enhancing revenue and achieving the business objectives of Piab Group’s Vacuum Conveying Division products. 

You will  

  • Set the direction for the Vacuum Conveying division’s growth strategy for North America.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies aimed at accelerating growth.
  • Lead and oversee the sales and marketing team, set and achieve ambitious growth targets.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and partners to ensure long term business growth.
  • Ensure an efficient sales governance and sales processes to drive profitable growth. CRM Salesforce and Sales KPI implementation with high rate team’s efficiency.
  • Ensure that sales data is accurately updated in Salesforce in a timely manner and sales reports are generated as agreed. Prepare and present regular reports on sales progress and forecasts to the senior management team.
  • Hire, coach and develop talent.
  • Establish career and personal development plans for direct reports.
  • Implement incentive plans for VC North America’s sales organization in accordance with group direction to drive profitable growth (short and long term).
  • Develop and utilise business networks in the VC Division’s target industries, including to maintain contact with sales channels, direct customers and relevant trade and industry associations.
  • Assist when needed with trade show preparation and coverage.
  • Enable sharing of success stories and spreadable wins with other regions within the division and facilitate for cross-selling of Piab’s other divisions’ products.
  • Manage North America’s Application Engineering, Internal Sales and Marketing team.
  • Ensure that compliance to Piab’s Code of Conduct is never compromised across all markets within North America.
  • Promote and actively work for Diversity and Inclusion, and also for Climate & Resource efficiency in-line with [Piab Group’s agreed practices].
  • Travel to meet with internal organisation as well as customers in North America (appr 80-100 days per annum) 

In this role, you are required to act according to the Piab Group Code of Conduct and know and follow the Piab Group values, mission and routines. 

This position reports to the Vice President South EU – MEA and Americas and works closely with the other members of the VC Division’s Sales Management team. In addition, this role has a key interface with other divisions in North America.

For this role, you need to be willing to travel to both Piab Group and external parties’ global destinations when applicable.

Skills, Experience, and Educational Background 

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, business, public relations, graphic design, website design or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a sales leadership role showing excellent track record and ability to segment markets.
  • Understanding of the bulk and solids industry and solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful commercial strategies in a technical or engineering context.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
