Job Mission: 

As an Application Engineer VC, you will play a crucial role in the primary technical resource for the field sales force, and our customers. Collaborating with a dynamic team, you will actively drive and manage the technology evaluation stage of the sales process. Working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate. Your role will involve identifying and providing reliable solutions for all technical issues to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process. You will establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle, contributing to our mission of advancing automation. 

 

Location: Piab Vakuum GmbH, Butzbach Germany

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Maintain professional business relationships within target accounts
  • Identify customer needs and recommend product solutions
  • Identify customer needs and recommend product solutions
  • Listen, understand and convey customer requirements
  • Support market penetration with customer
  • Prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor the assigned engineering projects
  • Service at the customer´s site
  • Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications
  • Maintain expert level of product knowledge and application
  • Develop applications that effectively accomplish client objectives and user needs
  • Could install applications and confirm proper communication between equipment and systems
  • Carry out tests in the in-house lab
  • Answer telephone calls and provide price and deliveries to customers/external sales along with Technical Support as required
  • Produce quotations to specification/best practice requirements for relevant products
  • Ensure any important or critical information as a result of customer contact is input into the CRM system Sales force as soon as possible to serve as a record for all sales functions.
  • Resolve customer issues or difficulties in a manner that is consistent with the company mission, values, and financial objectives

KEY INTERFACES

  • Work with outside partner(s) to support the region and achieve territory goals and objectives
  • Perform technical/ product training for sales people, new starters and engineers at targeted accounts.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Familiarity with Pharma, Food or Chemical industry is a plus
  • Ability to work with multiple discipline projects
  • Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards in the Automotive industry
  • Fluent English, both oral and written

PREFERED COMPETENCIES 

  • Strong customer service skills
  • Sales and marketing experience is a plus
  • Ability to handle client and customer issues tactfully and professionally
  • Creative, analytical, and driven
  • Thrives in a fast-paced work environment
  • Enjoys complex problem-solving and collaboration

 

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: 

  • 2+ years' experience as applications engineers or similar role
  • Diploma in techniques
  • Familiarity with CRM system is a plus
  • Proficient in drawing skills using Solid Edge / -Works
  • This role requires travel to both Piab and external parties’ global destinations when applicable.
