The Nordic Development Fund (NDF) was established in 1988 by the Nordic countries - Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden. NDF is the joint Nordic international finance institution (IFI) focusing on the nexus between climate change and development in lower-income countries and countries in fragile situations. NDF provides financing on concessionary terms with an active portfolio valued at over EUR 300 million. NDF engages in both the public and the private sector, and uses financial instruments flexibly in various combinations, to match the needs of the project. Together with our strategic partners, we develop, launch and scale high-impact projects to support developing countries and the most vulnerable people affected by climate change.

 

As we are strengthening our Business Development and Outreach team we are now looking for a Research Officer

 

Your key tasks will include:

 

  • Provide support for business development, and technical advisory to management by preparing briefings, research/analysis papers, data, reports and presentations on various topics relevant to the implementation of the NDF Strategy 2025
  • Develop corporate materials in coordination with the communications team
  • Contribute to the preparation of NDF’s reports as well as other publications
  • Provide coordination and logistical support for key meetings and events

  

Key requirements:

  • A relevant university level degree e.g. in the field of economics/business administration, international relations, development studies, environmental studies/climate change or similar
  • A genuine interest in the purpose and values of NDF
  • Practical understanding and technical knowledge of climate change adaptation and mitigation
  • Ability and interest to follow global trends in the area of climate and development
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to perform analytical/research assignments individually
  • Ability to process and analyse data
  • Excellent IT skills (Excel, Power Point, MS-Office)
  • Excellent command of English (both spoken and written), other languages a plus
  • Can-do mentality, strong ability to manage time and priority
  • A team player and a natural collaborator with high levels of self-motivation and a drive for excellence, used to working flexibly at fast pace
