About the Role

StormGeo is on a continuous growth journey and Offshore Energy is a key area where we continuously develop new products and solutions to actively take part in and drive the digital transformation and energy transition. Tech, innovation, data, and domain expertise are at the core of what we do and what enables us to support our clients in the offshore energy verticals such as Offshore Wind, Offshore Oil & Gas, Marine Contractor and Port Operators.

As Sales Manager Ocean, you will be part of a dynamic commercial team and be working closely with our global sales team members, marketing, product, and R&D team. 

The preferred location for this role is Bergen, but we will also consider candidates from Oslo, Norway. 

Main Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning and Market Analysis: Stay on top of industry trends and technological advancements to ensure our commercial offering is future-proof. Further develop and implement StormGeo’s offshore energy strategy, including market analysis, opportunity identification, and competitive positioning.
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue business opportunities in the offshore energy market globally. Foster strong relationships with key clients, industry players, and stakeholders. Take over a few well-established accounts and identify new sales opportunities.
  • Project Management: Lead and manage cross-functional project teams to drive domain initiatives from idea to completion, including planning, resource allocation, budgeting, and risk management, to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Industry Advocacy and subject matter expert: Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and forums, positioning the company as a leader in the offshore energy sector.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including our regional sales teams, operations, product, legal, and marketing, to ensure business insights are well understood and reflected in strategy and action plans. Identify new sales opportunities and make sure the existing client base is managed in a way that ensures the highest possible retention rates and account growth.

Core Requirements

  • Minimum three years of B2B Sales/Business Development experience within the Offshore energy industry or a related field
  • Experience selling digital solutions within the offshore energy industry
  • Good understanding of new technologies and market dynamics that are relevant for the Offshore energy industry
  • Ability to think strategically and to take initiatives and make things happen
  • Experience in internal stakeholder management – i.e. collaboration with cross-functional teams internally to drive prospect/client engagement externally
  • Professional working proficiency in English is required, and additional languages a plus
