Senior Process Engineer

Ragn-Sells and EasyMining (daughter company) are currently starting up their first full scale Ash2Salt plant in Högbytorp (less than 40 km northwest of Stockholm). We are therefore looking for a motivated Senior Process Engineer who wants the challenge of becoming the plant’s project development lead. In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead project teams, that optimize, design, and develop the current plant as well as participating in future Ash2Salt construction plants.

Job brief

We are seeking a senior process engineer who can assume the role of leading the plants process development projects. This requires an efficient co-operation between engineers, operation, and maintenance teams when working with capacity ramp up, troubleshooting, process optimization as well as design and development of new process improvements. Key responsibilities include:

• Investigate, strategize, prioritize, and plan process development initiatives within project frameworks to ensure right execution and delivery within set time frames
• Lead the process related work during the capacity ramp up and continuous operation of the plant
• Leading the work to structurally identify and mitigate process-related risks
• Scope, specify and contract engineering services from various disciplines that implement the development work
• Support other team and site colleagues with design and operation expertise
• Review P&IDs, mass balances and operation manuals
• Support OPEX and CAPEX project cost estimates

 

As the project development lead, the successful candidate will be based at our Ash2Salt plant in Högbytorp and on daily basis report to the plant’s site manager. However, the candidate will also be a part of the EasyMining’s engineering team (mainly located in Gothenburg) and the hiring manager will be EasyMining’s process team lead. In addition, there may be future opportunities for travel, particularly as Ragn-Sells explores the prospect of establishing a second plant.

Requirements

• You can in an organized manner work both independently and in a team
• You have excellent expertise in chemical process engineering, with a good understanding of work conducted in related disciplines such as process control, mechanical etc.
• You are physically capable of field work and site walk in an operating chemical plant that handles hazardous chemicals
• You can document the development process in an organized manner
• You have the ability to appropriately handle confidential information

 

Education & Experience Requirements

A higher degree from a university in chemical engineering (preferred) is a prerequisite.

>8 years of relevant experience in engineering and manufacturing environment in the chemical, petrochemical, or mining industry.

Expertise in mass and energy balance calculations and optimization.

It is of meritorious if you have experience with the following tools, process operations, and equipment:

• Filtration processes
• Evaporation processes
• Familiarity with working in Comos or other relevant engineering tools

Ragn-Sells is a Swedish waste and recycling company operating in 5 countries with an annual turnover of above 850 M€ and approximately 2800 employees. The Ash2Salt plant is located in Högbytorp and is today employing around 20 persons.

EasyMining Sweden AB has been a company in the Ragn-Sells group since 2014 and is today employing 45 persons. The engineering and management are located in an office in central Gothenburg (Gårda), the R&D is situated with office and laboratory facilities in Uppsala, and our German office is located in Berlin.

_{Fly ash is a waste of air pollution control at municipal incineration plants. It is a hazardous waste due to the high contents of heavy metals and chlorides. EasyMining´s Ash2Salt technology and the plant in Högbytorp extracts pure potassium, sodium, and calcium salts from the washed fly ashes. After washing, the ash residues can be used as a construction material or re-used as an industrial raw material.}
