Lean Coach

Höganäs in North America is seeking a Lean Coach for its production facility located in Johnstown, PA.

About the position

This position will be responsible to lead planning, deployment, training, and follow-up of Lean Six Sigma systems and build a continual improvement culture under direction of our strategic business plan.  Essential functions of the position include:

  • Follow local safety requirements, laws, and procedures. Maintain a safe working environment for all.
  • Serve as the process owner of the local improvement system and lead Lean Six Sigma projects.
  • Lead planning and deployment of Lean Six Sigma elements across site, functions, and cells.
  • Train and develop managers to Lean Six Sigma methodology according to standards including root cause analysis, advanced problem-solving techniques, process mapping, statistical tools, Kata coaching, 5S, value stream mapping, and waste identification. Work together with managers in training team members.
  • Validate Lean Six Sigma competencies of individuals and process confirm cells for new elements.
  • Provide feedback related to Lean Six Sigma elements to employees under Lean hierarchy such as for completed team improvements or 5S activities.
  • Support business plan deployment. Communicate Lean Six Sigma benefits to leadership and successes to all colleagues.
  • Coordinate global knowledge sharing with other sites.

Your profile

Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor’s degree in a related science or engineering field with a minimum of five years of experience working in a continuous improvement environment.  Active Quality Engineer or Green Belt certification is preferred or will otherwise be pursued as development in this role.  Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and competence of statistical software to be pursued in this role if not already proficient.  Strong communication, organizational, and presentation skills required. Demonstrated experience and competence in change management and the ability to adhere to schedules, deadlines and maintain detailed records.
