 About the position

There is an increased demand for the application of digitalization, artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics in agriculture to make it smarter and more efficient, particularly in Sweden.

The Department of Energy and Technology is looking for a postdoctoral researcher to work and support digitalization in agriculture engineering section. The role involves the development of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research projects investigating the development of digital solutions in agricultural engineering, including AI, robotics, and digital twins in various agricultural sectors. You will also participate in research applications as well as teaching and student supervision.

Your profile

We are looking for a motivated person with specific experience in digitalization in agriculture engineering and a passion for research idea development.

Qualifications

Required

  • Applicants should hold a doctoral degree in agriculture science, agriculture engineering, environmental science, computer engineering or a related filed.
  • Required is previous research experience in digitalization including AI, machine learning, robotics, data analytics and/or robotics.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are required.

Meriting

  • Good knowledge of programming language (e.g., Python, MATLAB or equivalent programming) along with a strong publication record (relative to the time since dissertation). 

Great emphasis is placed on personal qualities such as ability to work independently, flexibility, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines, curiosity and willingness to learn as well as good analytical skills.

Since employment as a postdoctoral fellow constitutes a merit-based employment for junior researchers, priority will be given to those who have a doctoral degree that is not older than three years.
