PhD student in Medical science

Duties
As a PhD student you will primarily devote yourself to your research. As a PhD student you are limited to work with education and administration up to 20 percent of full time.

As a PhD student you will participate in the project: “Autoreactivity to protective molecules in system lupus erythematosus”

Description of the project: The project is focused on studying the significance and biological function of potential biomarkers, especially autoantibodies directed against significant opsonins (eg pentraxins) in the systemic inflammatory disease systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).

Qualifications
Qualified to PhD studentships are only those who are or have been admitted to graduate studies. We are now looking for someone who has a master's degree in Medical Biology, or equivalent.

Description of specific qualifications, qualifying knowledge, and experience:

Applicants need to have a strong background in translational medical issues. This includes experience working with biobank material as well as various experimental immunological techniques (including linear epitope mapping) in application to both clinical biobank material and cellular model systems, documentation and evaluation of laboratory data (mainly inflammation and damage markers) against clinical variables, including statistical processing. The employment requires that you can communicate in Swedish and English both orally and in writing.

As a person, you take the initiative for activities and achieve results. You are careful and well aware of goals and quality standards and attach importance to these being met. Since in the role you will have close collaboration with colleagues, you should have a good ability to listen, communicate and work well with other people. The work also requires that you enjoy working individually with complex issues and analyzes.

Appointment time
The appointment will be until further notice for a maximum of one year at a time. A doctoral student may not be employed during a period exceeding eight years. The total time of appointment must not exceed the equivalent of four years´ full time research training.
