Your future work assignments
The goal of the research project is to develop advanced techniques for complement-compatible nanosystems capable of presenting different antigenic units in a single nano-scaffold for nextgeneration vaccines. The emphasis is on synthesizing nanostructures which are biocompatible, compliment safe and possess theranostic (diagnostic + therapeutic) privileges. This will provide an advantage for future design of efficient vaccination procedure with real-time monitoring capabilities. You will participate in pre-clinical evaluation of promising nano-vaccine candidates as well as humoral and systemic cell-mediated immunological immune responses.
You will design, characterize and synthesise biomaterial nanoparticle vaccines. Furthermore, you will work with virus cultivation and immunological analyses of animal and human test material and the design of artificial cornea and antiviral drug analysis. The work also includes animal handling.
Your future workplace
You will work at the Division of Hematopoiesis and Developmental Biology (HUB) within the Department of Clinical and Experimental Medicine (IKE), located within the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Linköping University. The goal of the Department is to conduct high-quality biomedical research and teaching at national and international top levels, for the benefit of health and medical care. The department has about 400 employees.
Your qualifications
We are looking for someone who has a PhD within the research area and approx. two years of postdoctoral experience in biomedicine. The work requires good knowledge in spoken and written english. Our candidate has education in laboratory animal science and experience in:
- characterization of nanomaterials
- photon correlation spectroscopy
- UV spectroscopy
- fluorescence spectroscopy
- IR spectroscopy
- synthesis of nanomaterials
- virus cultivation
It is meritorious if you have experience in immunological techniques.
You take responsibility for your tasks and drive your processes forward as well as come up with new ideas and new approaches. It is important that you understand the professional aspects of your work and continuously maintain your specialist knowledge. You are accurate and well aware of goals and quality standards and puts great effort to live up to these. You plan, organise and prioritise your work efficiently.
