The position

Your future tasks include in vitro differentiation and characterization of tumor and immune cells, work with mouse models and analysis of tissues and cells from lymphoma mouse models after treatment with immunotherapy, including oncolytic virotherapy. You will work with methods such as conventional and spectral flow cytometry, immunofluorescence, and molecular biology and sequencing techniques. The work requires a good ability to read and analyze research literature, plan experiments, analyze and compile data, and to carry these out independently and self-critically.

The person we need

We are looking for you who have a master's degree in biomedicine or equivalent. The position requires that you have experience with Biosafety Level 2. The job requires certification for work with laboratory animals (rodents) approved in Sweden.

The following techniques and methods are a requirement for the position:

  • Mammalian cell culture
  • Hands-on experience with viral vectors/oncolytic viruses, including production and purification
  • Immunological techniques including flow cytometry and ELISA
  • Molecular biology techniques including RT-qPCR, Western Blot, molecular cloning

It is advantageous if you have basic knowledge in bioinformatics.

The position requires very good knowledge of spoken and written English.

As a person, you are structured and initiative-taking. You have good communication and cooperation skills.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities and suitability.

The workplace

You will work at the Division of Molecular Medicine and Virology (MMV) in Judit Arvelund's research group. The research group studies the role of the immune system in the development of cancer and how this knowledge can be harnessed to develop cancer immunotherapies. The particular project seeks to understand how oncolytic virotherapy can be used in synergy with immunotherapy to achieve optimal immunity against lymphomas.

The Department of Biomedical and Clinical Sciences (BKV) is one of the university's largest departments with affiliation mainly within the Faculty of Medicine. Our goal is to conduct education and research in medicine and biomedicine, with a high international quality. At BKV you will find leading research in a large spectrum of modern biomedicine; from detailed molecular and cellular studies to genetics, clinical research and epidemiology.

The employment

Fixed-term employment 6 months, full-time.

Starting date: by agreement.
