The School of Business and Economics, one of Linnaeus University's five faculties, offers several business administration and economics programmes at both bachelor's and master's level, a large number of single-subject courses, as well as PhD education. We offer programmes within a number of different fields like management control, leadership, entrepreneurship and tourism. The school has its activities in both Kalmar, Växjö and web-based.
The Department of Marketing is in an expansive phase recruiting both senior and junior staff for building and developing several research areas within marketing. Recruiting a senior lecturer in international marketing is one of the positions.
Field of subject for the position: Business administration, with specialization in international marketing
Placement location: Kalmar or Växjö. Most work in the position will be performed at the placement location, but some duties may also be performed at other campuses where the university has activities.
Scope of the appointment: Full time. Access by agreement.
The labor market demands students with knowledge of and understanding of current marketing phenomena in a global world. Your most important tasks are conducting and developing research and education in business administration with a focus on international marketing. The aim is to create knowledge and understanding of how to manage globalization to benefit companies and society at large effectively.
The employment includes planning, teaching, and examination in educational programs at bachelor's and master's levels and freestanding courses. The tasks focus mainly on international perspectives in marketing, strategy, and entrepreneurship. The tasks may also include program and course responsibilities. Teaching is mainly in English, both physically on campus and digitally.
Teaching and research are interconnected within the framework of the School of Business & Economics' knowledge platforms. The current position means active participation in the Global Mind platform. The tasks include, for example, applying for external funding for research and collaborating with other teachers and researchers and with the surrounding society. Some administrative tasks will occur.
A qualified applicant for the position as a senior lecturer is expected to have demonstrated educational expertise and hold a doctoral degree in business administration or possess equivalent scientific expertise. The scientific and educational expertise needs to be relevant to international aspects regarding marketing and business economics.
According to Linnaeus University’s appointment regulations educational expertise applies both to the planning, delivery and evaluation of teaching, supervision and examination.
The assessment criteria that apply to an appointment as a senior lecturer are the applicant’s degree of expertise in the qualification requirements for the appointment. Equal attention is paid to the assessment of educational expertise and the assessment of scientific expertise
- The ability to develop teaching and research in Business Administration with specialization in international marketing.
- The ability to conduct research both independently and in collaboration with other researchers
- The ability to publish research in established international journals.
- The ability to apply and obtain research funding.
- The ability to create and participate in collaborations both internally and externally
- Relevant pedagogic education or equivalent experience.
- The ability to teach and conduct research in English and Swedish.
- Professional work experience from areas relevant for the position
When the university appoints new teachers, it has to select the applicants who are judged, in a qualitative holistic assessment of competence and expertise, to be most capable of performing and developing the work duties concerned and contributing to the successful development of its activities.
The appointment is currently placed at the Department of Marketing. We enforce a 6-months probationary period.
