The Department of Zoology is one of the departments at the Faculty of Science. The main research areas are Ethology, Ecology, Population Genetics, Functional Morphology and Systematics.
Main responsibilities
The applicant’s main responsibilities would to organize and assist with a variety of acoustic and behavioral analyses of pied flycatchers (Ficedula hypoleuca). The applicant would work closely with PhD students and postdoctoral researchers on projects involving measurement of song acoustic features using Luscinia and Raven software, behavioral analysis of previously collected video recordings.
Qualification requirements
We are looking for someone with experience in conducting acoustic analyses on bird song and video analyses of behavioral experiments. Experience with the software packages Raven and Luscinia are essential and detailed knowledge of flycatcher song and behavior is advantageous. Experience with video analyses using BORIS, Solomon Coder, or similar software is advantageous. The applicant must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively.
Terms of employment
This is a full-time, fixed-term position starting from 2024-10-07 until 2025-04-30. Salaries at Stockholm University are determined individually; therefore, please indicate your requested salary. Start date immediately.
