SciLifeLab (SciLifeLab) is a national centre for molecular biosciences with a focus on health and environmental research. The centre combines frontline technical expertise with advanced knowledge of translational medicine and molecular bioscience. SciLifeLab is a national resource hosted by Karolinska Institutet, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm University and Uppsala University. The centre also collaborates with several other universities. The employment will be placed at the Department of biochemistry and biophysics, at Stockholm university.

Main responsibilities
The tasks in the position relate to the development of a new in situ sequencing method that is faster and simpler than the current one. The work includes molecular biological methodology and staining of sections from tissues. Furthermore, fluorescence microscopy and image processing and analysis are included. The work will be carried out in close collaboration with doctoral students and postdocs in the group, and with external partners in immunology, tumor biology, and data analysis. Therefore, communication in the form of oral presentations and written reports is an important element of the work, as well as accurate documentation of the work performed and its results.

Qualification requirements
Employment as a research assistant is primarily for research purposes. Applicants are expected to have a Swedish master's degree or an equivalent degree from another country.

We are looking for you who have a master's degree in biotechnology or similar and who have experience in molecular biology method development and in situ sequencing. The work will be carried out in close collaboration with doctoral students and postdocs in the group, so you must be a cooperative and communicative team worker. The group is international and the working language is English. Great importance will be attached to personal qualities.

Terms of employment
This is a full-time position, with a 6 month contract, and possibility of renewal. Salaries at Stockholm University are determined individually.
