At the Institute of Neuroscience and Physiology, at the Sahlgrenska Academy, we conduct research and education covering a wide range of knowledge areas. The institute comprises five different departments: Clinical neuroscience, Health and rehabilitation, Pharmacology, Physiology as well as Psychiatry and neurochemistry.

The Institute of Neuroscience and Physiology invites applications for a researcher position at the Department of Clinical neuroscience.

The Department of Clinical Neuroscience conducts pediatric eye research with focus on the Mitochondrial function in relation to preterm birth, sex and neonatal morbidities.

Duties

The researcher will study mitochondrial function in platelets and placenta.

Qualifications

A requirement for employment is that researchers hold a PhD degree in Pediatrics. It is also a requirement to be proficient in written communication in Swedish and English. Applicants should have experience with oxygraph methodology, protein and microscopy analysis techniques as well as statistical processing with programs such as R. It is desirable that applicants have experience from work in both healthcare and academia. Applicants should be independent in their work approach, have good collaborative skills, and appreciate working in a research organization. We value attention to detail, and we place great importance on personal suitability.

Employment

The employment is limited (temporary) for 11 månader, 100% of full-time, and is placed at the Institute of Neuroscience and Physiology. Starting date: as soon as possible or as agreed.
