Subject area description

We are searching for a Senior Lecturer to join the Division of Algebra and Geometry,

The successful candidate is expected to develop and maintain a high-level research program with emphasis on algebra and geometry and participate in the undergraduate and graduate level teaching in mathematics at our department.

We expect the successful candidate to strengthen and complement the research conducted at the Division of Algebra and Geometry, for instance in Algebraic geometry and Number theory.

We are committed teachers with extensive and broad experience in all aspects of undergraduate and graduate education in mathematics. We are appreciated by students and are continuously seeking opportunities for pedagogical improvement. Our ambition is to teach mathematics at the highest international level.

The assignments comprise

When assessing your scientific competence, special attention is paid to publications of high quality. Quality bears greater weight than accumulated output of scientific papers. Research with important contributions after your PhD degree as well as international scientific collaboration are considered as strong merits.

When assessing your pedagogical merits, special attention is paid to your ability to plan and teach courses in mathematics.

We will choose the applicant who, after the overall assessment of skills and potential, is considered to have the best prerequisites to carry out the tasks included in the job description, to collaborate with others, and to contribute to a positive development of activities at the department.
