Job assignments

The post involves teaching a Master’s course on scientific methods of investigation for modern materials. You will be asked to coordinate, design and deliver lectures and practical sessions in relation to the analysis of modern materials including plastics, ceramics, paper, metals, painted surfaces and more. You will also supervise students in the laboratory. You will be asked to present the principles of different techniques to analyze these materials, including optical microscopy, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Raman, X-ray Fluorescence (XRF), Scanning Electron Microscope coupled with x-ray energy dispersive spectroscopy (SEM-EDS), electrochemical methods and others such as multi/hyper-spectral imagining. Experience in the analysis of both organic and inorganic materials will be considered an advantage.

Eligibility

Qualifying to be employed as a visiting lecturer is the one who has demonstrated pedagogical skills and has undergone university education at advanced level or has equivalent skills or other skills relevant to the conservation of paintings. 

The applicant should have a Master’s or a PhD in heritage science with demonstrable experience in the analysis of heritage materials. We would like you to have experience of practical experience in a museum or heritage organisation . Teaching experience and work experience in Sweden will be considered an advantage.

Language of instruction will be English.
