At the Institute of Neuroscience and Physiology, at the Sahlgrenska Academy, we conduct research and education covering a wide range of knowledge areas. The institute comprises five different departments: Clinical neuroscience, Health and rehabilitation, Pharmacology, Physiology as well as Psychiatry and neurochemistry.

The Institute of Neuroscience and Physiology invites applications for a research position at the Department of Clinical neuroscience.

Duties

It is expected that the holder will actively participate in neurological research, mainly with a focus on stroke. This applies both to a more laboratory focus (biomarkers in liquor and blood) as well as to the use of registers and organizational analysis. The holder must also participate actively to coordinate stroke research at Gothenburg University linked to Sahlgrenska University Hospital.

Qualifications

Demonstrated scientific, pedagogical and clinical skills are mandatory requirements for the employment, as well as a medical degree, specialist competence in neurology and a doctorate in a medical subject or another subject that the employer finds equivalent. It is advantageous to have experience in supervising doctoral students to the degree. Great importance will be placed on personal suitability.

Employment

The employment is limited (temporary) for 11 months, 20% of full-time, and is placed at the Institute of Neuroscience and Physiology. Starting date: as soon as possible or as agreed.
