Associate Researcher in breast cancer

The Institute of Clinical Sciences is one of six Institutes within Sahlgrenska Academy at the University of Gothenburg. We conduct research and education that puts people's health and quality of life in focus. We represent 16 different research areas and are divided into four sections. Through a fruitful collaboration with the healthcare and Sahlgrenska University Hospital, we have developed joint projects and meeting places that benefits both health care and research.

The Institute of Clinical Sciences, is searching for a associate researcher to work within a project in breast cancer. 

Duties 

We are currently seeking a associate researcher who will work on a project entitled, “High-throughput drug screening of triple-negative breast cancer using 3D tumor spheroids and patient-derived organoids”. The applicant will be responsible for culturing cell lines and patient samples as 2D monolayers and/or 3D spheroids/organoids, high-throughput drug treatment, and analyses to assess protein expression and tissue morphology. 

Qualifications 

For the position as associate researcher, a Master of Science in Molecular Biology or similar is required. The candidate should have experience in 2D/3D mammalian cell culture, high-throughput drug treatment, and flow cytometry. Prior experience in data analysis and advanced statistical skills using R/Bioconductor are a merit. The candidate must have an interest in breast cancer research, excellent problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team. Furthermore, a good ability to communicate in English (orally and written) is necessary. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
