Deputy researcher in Logic within research project "Foundations for team semantics"

The Department of Philosophy, Linguistics and Theory of Science (FLoV) at the University of Gothenburg is looking for an deputy researcher for six months. The employment is part of a research project funded by the Swedish Research Council led by Fredrik Engström with the title: "Foundations for team semantics: Meaning in an enriched framework" https://www.gu.se/en/research/foundations-for-team-semantics-meaning-in-an-enriched-framework. The project aims to better understand the underlying construction for the formal semantical framework "team semantics" by questioning and analyzing the underlying foundational principles. We will develop new logical systems that make greater use of the potential of team semantics; such as a logical system for analyzing and verifying security features of computer program. At the same time, we will analyze and classify the underlying constructions from both a mathematical and a philosophical perspective.

Job assignments

As deputy researcher, you will work together with project manager Fredrik Engström and docent Bahareh Afshari to develop the team semantics in accordance with the project description. You will, in collaboration with the researchers, write scientific papers and assist in research planning, including project meetings and workshops. You are expected to participate actively in the department's workplace meetings as well as other internal meetings and conferences. The main part of the work must be carried out on site at the University of Gothenburg.

 

Eligibility 

We are looking for you with at least a master's degree in Logic, or the equivalent. You must have documented experience of research in team semantics, e.g. through published papers or an academic essay at advanced level. You must have a good ability to collaborate, take initiatives and work independently. The position also requires good knowledge of English.

 

Assessment

The most important criterion for assessment is demonstrated experience and skill in logic and especially in the research area of team semantics.
