The School of Public Health and Community Medicine, at the Institute of Medicine, conducts extensive education and research in global public health, general practice/family medicine, occupational medicine, environmental medicine, social medicine, medicine use and pharmaceutical policy. We also conduct education and research within nutritional epidemiology, insurance medicine, innovation and utilization, health economics, biostatistics and register epidemiology. We are developing interdisciplinary work on the UN´s Sustainable Development Goals with a focus on SGD 3 (health) and 8 (economical growth).
The Department of Public Health and Community Medicine and Public Health is further developing the area of Global Health with a focus on the development of well-functioning health care and public health interventions to different age groups and in close collaboration with researchers in the country where the study is conducted. The department also provides a master's program in global health. The medical program also includes initiatives focusing on global health, such as coordination and supervision of degree projects during semester 10. We are now looking for a researcher to participate mainly in research in the global health group.
The work includes participating and project leading research projects and participating in concrete research work. Within the framework of the research project, doctoral students are supervised in their research studies. The project management of the research projects includes overall coordination towards both funders and consortium participants, as well as leadership over the academic content of the project. The work also includes participating in the development of the research group in global health at the Division of Community Medicine and Public Health.
PhD degree in medicine or public health is required. Good oral and written proficiency in Swedish and English is required. Furthermore, experience from research and educational activities in global health and from work with global and public health in international contexts is required. A medical degree is a merit. Good contacts to suitable research environments for conducting degree projects globally desirable.
Great emphasis will be placed in personal suitability such as outgoing, collaborative and sustainable.
