We are now looking for one or several senior lecturers in social work who can strengthen the research and education environment.
The tasks include teaching, research and collaboration with the surrounding society and consist mainly of teaching, supervision and examination on the theories and methods of social work within the Bachelor of Science Programme in Social Work. The tasks also involve assignments on course and study programme development and participation in the department’s teaching development work. Teaching is mainly at first and second cycle, but there may be some at third cycle, as well as some contract education. There may also be requirements to teach on most of the department’s courses and study programmes.
The position further includes the administrative tasks associated with a teaching position and, in the long term, the ability to participate in and perform different management assignments. Active participation in the department’s research environments and seminar activities is also required. As externally funded research is an important prerequisite for the research activities of the department and individual teachers, the tasks include actively participating in the department’s work to find external funding.
The appropriate qualifications for the position of senior lecturer are specified in Chapter 4, Section 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance and in appointment procedure for teachers at the university of Gothenburg (Local Application at the Faculty of Social Sciences) available at appointments procedure for teachers at the university of Gothenburg

When assessing research expertise, publications of high academic quality will primarily be considered. Importance will also be given to documented ability to initiate, plan and conduct research and obtain funds for research in competition.
The teaching expertise must be well documented, which means that both scope and quality may be assessed. When assessing teaching expertise, special importance should be placed on experience of planning and carrying out teaching in social work. Supervision at first, second and third cycle is a useful qualification. The applicant must have a good ability to teach in Swedish as well as in English.
Applicants with a degree in social work, social care, social pedagogy or other relevant professional education from a university/higher education institute and at least two years of documented experience of qualified professional social work will be considered before other applicants with comparable qualifications. We would like to see applicants with experience in one of the core areas of social work. Different forms of participation in the surrounding society will also be considered.
Particular importance will be given to the combined competence in the subject and professional social work, as well as to the ability of the appointed person to collaborate internally and externally, and to be involved in driving the development of the department’s educational, project and research activities.
The applicant is responsible for ensuring that the application is complete in accordance with the vacancy notice and instructions and that it is registered no later than the application deadline. The cited qualifications shall be supported by certificates.
