The School of Public Health and Community Medicine, at the Institute of Medicine, conducts extensive education and research in global public health, general medicine, occupational medicine, environmental medicine, social medicine, medicine use and pharmaceutical policy. We also conduct education and research within nutritional epidemiology, insurance medicine, innovation and utilization, health economics, biostatistics and register epidemiology.

The School of Public Health and Community Medicine now builds a Global Health Theme with one to two professors connected and including the master's program in Global Health. The Global Health Theme also covers coordination and supervision of Global Health-oriented theses for the medical program during term 10. We are now looking for additional faculty for mainly research- participation in the Global Health research group.

Job assignments

The work includes participating and leading research projects. Within the frame of the research project, doctoral students are supervised in their doctoral studies and to participate in concrete research work. The project management of the research projects includes overall coordination with both funding agencies and consortium participants, as well as leadership of the project’s academic content. Work tasks also include participation in the development of the research group in global and public health at the School of Public Health and Community Medicine.

Qualifications

For this position, a PhD in medicine or public health is required as well as a good knowledge of English. Experience from research and educational activities in Global Health is required. Furthermore, good contacts with suitable research environments for conducting graduate work globally ​​is required. It is a merit to have a MD qualification. Experience from working with global and public health issues in international settings is also an important merit.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
