The Institute of Clinical Sciences is one of six Institutes within Sahlgrenska Academy at the University of Gothenburg. We conduct research and education that puts people's health and quality of life in focus. We represent 16 different research areas and are divided into four sections. Through a fruitful collaboration with the healthcare and Sahlgrenska University Hospital, we have developed joint projects and meeting places that benefits both health care and research.

The position is at the Department of Obstretrics and Gynecology, at the Institute of Clinical Science, The Sahlgrenska Academy of Göteborg University.This pre-clinical postdoctoral position combines the research areas of regenerative medicine, transplantation and reproduction.

Job assignments

The work duties as a researcher will include in vivo work, microsurgery, cell isolation and sorting, cell culture, immunohistochemistry and molecular biology methods. The work will include animal studies. The successful candidate is also expected to write scientific articles and assist other researchers / doctoral students in the group as mentors.

Qualifications

An achieved doctoral degree is compulsory for a position. The doctoral thesis shall be in a relevant area according to the specific position stated here. The applicant will have to
have documented experience from animal work, primary cell isolation -sorting and –culturing experience (including various types of stem cells), biochemistry and histology methods and biomolecular techniques(RT-PCR).

Other qualifications are excellent oral and, more importantly, written English language skills, proven ability to write coherent scientific text with at least one published or submitted manuscript where the applicant is the first author and wrote a major part of the text.

It is expected that the applicant is able to work both independently and in a group, since the position requires collaborations with colleagues. The applicant needs to have be good at teamwork, be structured and organized. Suitability on a personal level will be taken into account. After the overall quality assessment of the competence, the applicants will be judged based on their feasibility to implement and develop the stated work duties and to contribute with a positive attitude and derive for our research projects.

Employment

The employment is limited (temporary) until 2021-12-31 months, 100 % of full-time and is placed at The Institute of Clinical Sciences. Starting date; as soon as possible
