The Department of Economics belong to the School of Business, Economics and Law at University of Gothenburg and has around 100 employees from several countries. The teaching within the department is economics and statistics and the department has around 800 students registered at courses and programs. A diversity of researcher are located at the department where several of them are internationally well known economists. The conducting research is within a broad range of areas, including labor, health, environmental, development, behavioral, and financial economics. The department aim to recruit one visiting lecturer for teaching during the academic year 21/22.
The job assignments as a guest lecturer consists of lectures, seminars and supervision of students’ theses work at the bachelor level. More specifically, we are looking for a guest lecturer for the introductory statistics courses and supervision of bachelor theses.
The assignments also include administrative tasks such as grading and scheduling. The teaching will be done in Swedish. The supervision of theses will be done in Swedish and English.
You must have previous experience of teaching statistics at the undergraduate level and be pedagogically competent to be able to communicate with the department's students in an educational and clear manner. Therefore, a record of pedagogical training is required. Previous experience of supervising students is meritorious.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent in Statistics or a closely related field in order to be eligible for employment as a Senior Lecturer. Qualified is the person who masters Swedish and English in speech and writing.
Experience of statistical analysis in the business sector is meritorious.
An overall assessment of the applicants will be done based on the requirements described above.
The department aims to recruit one visiting lecturer. The employment is a temporary employment on hours during the period 2021-09-01 – 2022-06-30 and the working hours may vary approximately between 100 hours and 350 hours.
The employment is located at the Department of Economics at the University of Gothenburg, Gothenburg.
An intermittent employment refers to hourly employment according to agreement during the period 2021-09-01 - 2022-06-30. In the case of intermittent employment, you are called in and choose to accept the offered job, which then constitutes a new employment relationship on each individual occasion.
