MC2, Research specialist position on 2D Spintronics and Quantum Devices
Reference number REF 2024-0516
We are looking for highly motivated research specialist to be part of our experimental research on Spintronics and Quantum Electronics using 2D topological quantum materials heterostructure devices at Quantum Device Physics Laboratory, Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden. Aim of this project is to exploit the electronic, quantum and spin transport properties in nanoscale devices using 2D materials heterostructure with twist angle control for spin based memory, logic, and quantum electronics applications.
Information about the division/the project
The position will be placed in the Quantum Device Physics Laboratory, at The Department of Microtechnology and Nanoscience. The main research focus of the laboratory is on 2D Materials based devices, spintronics, quantum electronics, topological quantum materials and devices, superconducting quantum device. The Department of Microtechnology and Nanoscience focuses on research, innovation and education within the fields of future electronics, photonics, bio- and nanosystems.
Job description
The research focus is on Spintronics and Quantum Device Physics using 2D topological quantum materials heterostructures. The aim is to create and control quantum and spin phenomenon in 2D quantum materials heterostructures that can pave the way for future generations of spin and quantum technologies.
The major responsibility of researcher is to perform research on emerging 2D quantum materials down to the atomic scale and their van der Waals heterostructure with moiré super lattice, and to develop new concepts in device physics and applications in nanoelectronics, spintronics and quantum technologies. It includes preparation/growth of 2D materials, preparation of heterostructure, clean room nanofabrication with electron beam lithography, structural characterization and electronic, spintronic and quantum transport measurements.
