Support teenagers with homework!

We are now hiring new tutors for the academic year 2024-25. You will be a part of the project called Pluggstöd (study support). As a student you are an important role model helping young students in primary and secondary school with homework. You will be visiting both schools and sports clubs in Gothenburg and will be given the opportunity to develop your teaching skills, help young people to achieve their goals and above all, be a role model and mentor for future generations.

Information about the position
As a tutor for Chalmers Pluggstöd, you help primary and secondary school pupils with their homework in math and scientific subjects. The project is carried out in collaboration with schools and sports clubs and the sessions take place in their facilities. Usually, you will work together with a representative of the school/sport club and a group of 6-8 students. One purpose of the project is to promote an international environment and we therefore strive for an international and a Swedish student to work together during each session. Each session is about two hours. The work runs over approximately 10 weeks per semester and is expected to start in september.

Qualifications
We are looking for candidates that are studying at Chalmers or University of Gothenurg, like working with teens, are positive, dedicated and can present knowledge in an understandable and fun way. Previous experience in tutoring is desirable but not a requirement. We are looking for both Swedish and English speaking persons. We prefer if you can work 1  -2 sessions per week.

Form of employment
Intermittent employment (employed by the hour).
Scope varies between about 6-15 hours/month. 

Hourly rate 135 SEK/hour. The employment is time-limited and starts in September 2024 and ends in May 2025
