SSC is seeking a new Communications Officer at Esrange Space Center in Kiruna. We think of you as a dedicated communications specialist interested in working in a place "out of this Earth". Your mind is strategic as well as practical and you want to be part of an exciting industry under rapid development and with employees all over the world.
As Communications Officer, you will have overall responsibility for all issues that affect Esrange Space Center. Saying there is a lot happening is no exaggeration. You will be a central part of rocket launches, balloon releases and expansions for future satellite launch capabilities. To handle this, you will have continuous and close contact with the staff at Esrange as well as journalists and local decision-makers in the Norrbotten region, in order to build local relationships that benefit the organization in the long term.
As responsible for the communications function at Esrange, you will become part of a tight communications team based in Kiruna and Stockholm, and you will report to Esrange’s site manager. The position allows you to have great freedom to form your function. Together we have a wide range of responsibilities, from handling complex strategy issues to quick practical commitments such as social media and keeping the Esrange Visitor's Center in top shape.
WE OFFER YOU
- An exciting and dynamic workplace with employees and customers all over the world.
- A workplace characterized by an open atmosphere and proud employees.
- A varied work description where you are given great freedom to form your own function and plan your work.
- Interesting and challenging tasks at a high strategic level combined with practical hands-on assignments.
- Great opportunity to develop both yourself and your role at SSC.
WHO YOU ARE
You enjoy having a lot of flexibility to form your function and plan your own work. You want to be at the heart of things and enjoy taking on complex strategy issues as much as handling quick practical tasks.
You hold a degree in communications and have a good linguistic eye as well as the ability to adapt messages to reach different target groups. You are fluent in Swedish and English in both speech and writing. You also hold a class B driver’s license. Local knowledge is a merit, since an important part of the job involves building local relations. You are also used to working with various web tools, pictures, photos and social media. The job sometimes involves traveling and working outside normal office hours, for example close to launches that might take place in the middle of the night. Hence, you do not mind irregular working now and then.
The employment is located at Esrange Space Center outside Kiruna.
