We are looking for   

Research assistant in Machine Learning with a focus on in vitro fertilization (IVF) at Faculty of Technology and Society.

Work duties   

  • Running cutting-edge research in Machine Learning (ML), focusing on Deep learning and on-device Large Language Model (LLM), and optimization algorithms.
  • Collaborating with our team to transform research insights into practical, impactful solutions.
  • Staying abreast of the latest advancements in ML, transformers, graph neural networks, fine-tuning techniques, and inference and optimization.
  • Writing academic reports
  • Delivering high-quality work at a fast pace, understanding the importance of time and speed in a startup environment.   

Qualifications   

Specific requirements for this position:   

  • A bachelor's degree or master's degree in computer science or related topics
  • A strong understanding of machine learning algorithms, deep learning, and data analytics.
  • Hands-on experience in developing and deploying ML infrastructure, with expertise in PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
  • Deep understanding of systems engineering with a focus on building scalable solutions for large-scale data processing and model training.
  • Experience in working with multimodal or vision models.
  • Experience in working with optimization approaches.
  • Good experience in writing academic reports.
  • Ability to communicate complex research findings in a clear and impactful manner.
  • A talent for solving problems creatively and effectively.
  • Demonstrated capability to independently lead research projects with end-to-end responsibility.

The following would be of benefit for the position:   

  •  Have worked previously in the healthcare domain, in particular in vitro fertilization (IVF) laboratory.
  • Being familiar with IVF procedures and data in IVF laboratories.

The Faculty of Technology and Society conducts education and research with a focus on technology and natural sciences at its two departments: the Department of Computer Science and Media Technology, and the Department of Materials Science and Applied Mathematics. Department of Computer Science and Media Technology

The Department of Computer Science and Media Technology offers research-linked education at both undergraduate and advanced levels, as well as doctoral studies. Research at the department is conducted in computer science, information systems, software engineering, and media technology. Some of the areas we are interested in within research and education include artificial intelligence, digital media, e-health, the Internet of Things, and game development. The department has over 80 teachers and doctoral students, and the operations are divided into three units, each with its own unit manager. Internet of Things and People (IoTaP) research center

Internet of Things and People (IoTaP) is a research centre that studies how people can get the most out of the Internet of Things. The work involves computer scientists, interaction designers, professionals and users. Through applied research, IoTaP addresses a range of current challenges in society within areas such as energy, transportation, health, learning and home automation.
